Rockies To The Red Rocks

Glide past stunning red rock formations in Moab, cross the Continental Divide, and enjoy desert views en route to vibrant Denver.
Board the train in the scenic city of Denver, Colorado, and start heading eastward towards Utah. Before long, you’ll be taking in scenic views of the Gross Reservoir Dam and slowly gaining elevation before reaching the Continental Divide.
Colorado River through rugged landscapes and mesmerizing canyons, including the picturesque Byers and Gore canyons. Inaccessible to most traffic, you’ll take in epic views of canyons carved out over centuries.
End your first day of rail travel in Glenwood Springs, a hidden gem nestled under the shadows of the Rockies. This historic town, once known as ‘Defiance’, is now home to healing hot springs and a true Wild West spirit.
Get up close and personal with the 6,800ft tall Mount Garfield - the westernmost peak of the San Juan Mountains and the highest point of Book Cliffs.
Follow the river down to Utah and catch glimpses of the sun-soaked Ruby Canyon. The only access to the canyon is by rail - so you’ll get another exclusive look at the red sandstone cliffs that make up the 25-mile long canyon.
Arrive at Moab, known as the adventure capital of Utah and gateway to the Mighty 5 National Parks. From there, you can visit the nearby Arches National Park for a first-hand look at eroded sandstone spires, hoodoos, balanced rocks, and arches.

Our only route that travels to Banff and Lake Louise, journeying from Vancouver to the towering Rockies and untouched wilderness.
Board Rocky Mountaineer in the urban oasis of Vancouver and journey through the farmlands of the Fraser Valley.
The scenery undergoes a dramatic shift as you find yourself amid a desert landscape peppered with sagebrush, winding alongside the idyllic Kamloops Lake.
Stop in the quiet town of Kamloops BC, where you will overnight at a hotel.
Continue east into Glacier National Park and cross the stunning Stoney Creek Bridge, getting a bird’s-eye view over 250 feet above the valley below.
Catch glimpses of the famous Castle Mountain and Mount Rundle as you enter the Rocky Mountains, gazing at cascading waterfalls, icy glaciers, and peaks towering above the train windows.
Take in the brilliant mineral waters of Lake Louise - a global symbol of the Rockies and home to the historic Fairmont Lake Louise.
Note: Only some packages end in Lake Louise.

Located in Banff National Park, this famous mountain town offers everything from healing hot springs and gondola rides to a thriving culinary & shopping scene. The famous Cascade Mountain towers over the town no matter where you are.
Journey Through The Clouds

Board in Vancouver and cut through the Rockies towards the scenic mountain town of to Jasper, passing majestic Mount Robson and endless natural wonders.
Depart from our Vancouver station and follow the scenic Fraser River eastbound. Soon, you’ll be out of the city and moving into the wilderness.

Step onto our outdoor viewing platform and feel the cool spray of Pyramid Falls on your face. Access to the falls is impossible by road - but our train gets you up close and personal with the glacier-fed waterfalls.
Glide past teal-green lakes in Jasper National Park as you close in on Mount Robson, the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies. At almost 4,000 feet, this mountain is so large it has its own weather system.
You’ll want to explore every corner of this quaint mountain town. Pop into a local pub or restaurant, explore the many local hiking trails, take a dip in Pyramid Lake, or treat yourself to an evening at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.
Rainforest to Gold Rush

Go from sea to sky, winding alongside the temperate rainforest and Pacific Ocean to Whistler, cutting through the historic Cariboo Gold Rush region to Jasper.
Depart from our Vancouver station, wind your way along Horseshoe Bay, and into the scenic fjords of Howe Sound.
As you pass Squamish, you’ll leave the ocean behind and find yourself amid the majestic Coast Mountains. Be on the lookout for The Chief, an awe-inspiring granite cliff and famous local landmark.
Pull into Whistler station and enjoy plenty of time unwinding in this world-famous mountain resort. Stroll through the village and explore its many shops and restaurants or take a ride on the Peak-2-Peak Gondola for sky-high views.
Continue travelling up the Pemberton Valley, gliding past Anderson Lake and Seton Lake. Here, the landscape becomes more rugged, with sheer cliffs on one side and milky-green lakes on the other.
After cruising through the gold-flecked canyons that once drew wagons full of gold prospectors, you’ll find yourself in historic Quesnel. The gold rush may be over, but there are still many treasures to find in this arid ranchland.
