Discover the Charm of Glenwood Springs
Nestled in the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains about 160 miles (257 kilometers) from Denver, Glenwood Springs sits at the confluence of the Colorado and Roaring Fork rivers. Surrounded by lush forests and picturesque views, the town has grown into a breathtaking wellness destination and is the overnight midpoint stop on all our Rockies to the Red Rocks packages.
Make the most of your time in town
The town of Glenwood Springs is filled with plenty of things to do. Feel history come alive with a walk across the pedestrian bridge that spans the Colorado River, Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, the train tracks at the station, and over the I-70.
Stroll down 7th Street and you’ll find “restaurant row”, home to al fresco eating establishments offering locally sourced food and drinks galore. Boutiques, local jewelry, art, and souvenirs are all readily available, and a self-guided walk through downtown will give you a glimpse of Colorado history around every corner.

“Taking the waters”
A time-honoured healing tradition, “taking the waters” is still recommended as a remedy for a variety of ailments. The nomadic Indigenous Ute tribe were the earliest known people to soak in the healing hot springs, which retain the original name - “Yampah” (meaning “Big Medicine”).
There are still many places to “take the waters” for yourself as this sacred tradition of relaxation and wellness lives on in Glenwood Springs. Relax in the thermal waters of Glenwood Hot Springs, boasting seven expansive pools heated by the natural mineral waters of the Yampah Spring. The spring also feeds the Yampah Vapor Caves, the only natural vapor caves in North America. Or visit the modern Iron Mountain Hot Springs on the north bank of the Colorado River – a secluded spot to restore and rejuvenate.
